Getting around
Zanzibar has no ride-hailing app and no meters — fares are negotiated, which is where most visitors overpay. JAMBO prices every private transfer by zone in advance: you pick where you are and where you're going, choose a vehicle for your group size, and the fare is fixed before you travel.
The island is divided into pickup and destination zones. The fare depends on the distance between those zones and the vehicle you need — a sedan for two people, a minivan for a family, or a larger vehicle for groups. Round trips and full-day hire with a waiting driver are priced separately, which is usually better value than booking two one-way trips.
Fares depend on distance and vehicle: short hops within one area are inexpensive, while cross-island trips such as Stone Town to Nungwi are considerably more. JAMBO shows the exact fixed fare for your route and vehicle before you book.
Yes. Full-day hire keeps the same driver and vehicle with you, which suits multi-stop days such as Jozani plus Stone Town plus a sunset spot.
Some experiences include transport. For the rest, JAMBO calculates the transfer from your hotel zone during checkout and shows it as a separate, clearly labelled line.
Use a booked, identified driver rather than an unmarked car approaching you at the airport. JAMBO transfers are operated by vetted local drivers, and your driver's details appear in your My Jambo itinerary before pickup.
